Philippine Airlines (PAL) is expanding its operations in Australia with the launch of daily nonstop flights between Manila and Brisbane starting on October 27, 2024. This new service increases the airline’s total weekly flights to Australia to 22, making it the leading carrier from the Philippines to four Australian cities. In addition to the daily Brisbane flights, PAL offers daily service to Sydney, five weekly flights to Melbourne, and three weekly flights to Perth.

The new Brisbane flights, PR 221 and PR 222, will operate daily. PR 221 will depart Manila at 12:05 AM, arriving in Brisbane at 9:50 AM, while PR 222 will depart Brisbane at 11:10 AM, arriving in Manila at 5:00 PM.

PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley K. Ng highlighted the importance of this expansion, stating, “We at Philippine Airlines are excited to welcome tourists and business travelers onboard our daily flights from Manila to Brisbane, and likewise on our extensive network of nonstop flights to Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. We are poised to intensify efforts to promote tourism between the Philippines and Australia, as we invite more travelers to discover the wonders of our beautiful country of more than 7,000 islands and the renowned friendliness and hospitality of the Filipino people.”

Rafael Toda, President of the Australia Philippines Business Council, also emphasized how this expanded flight schedule would support economic collaboration, facilitating quicker responses to emerging business opportunities.
