Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the resumption of its flights between Clark and Basco, Batanes, starting on July 2, 2024. This reintroduction is expected to make it easier for travelers in Central and Northern Luzon to visit the picturesque landscapes of Basco, providing a more direct and convenient route without having to travel to Manila.
The Clark-Basco service will operate four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight, PR 2688, will depart from Clark International Airport at 11:00 AM and arrive in Basco at 12:35 PM. The return flight, PR 2689, will leave Basco at 1:00 PM and land in Clark at 2:35 PM. This direct connection complements PAL’s daily Manila-Basco service, offering additional flexibility for travelers.
The renewed Clark-Basco route is expected to benefit both leisure travelers and local residents. It provides an easier way for people in Central and Northern Luzon to visit Batanes’ stunning scenery and for Basco’s residents to travel to other parts of the country. The service is also expected to support business and tourism opportunities in the region.
Philippine Airlines’ Expanding Network
With this new route, PAL continues to grow its network from Clark. The airline already offers daily flights from Clark to Cebu, thrice-weekly flights to Caticlan (Boracay), and four times a week to Busuanga (Coron). PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng noted that convenient connectivity is key for travelers exploring the country’s various destinations.
“We are delighted to revive our Clark-Basco service commencing on the third quarter of 2024,” Capt. Ng said. “We will endeavor to reopen more routes out of Clark as we continue to grow our network from Central Luzon.”
Support from Clark LIPAD
Noel Manankil, President and CEO of LIPAD, the consortium managing Clark International Airport, also welcomed the renewed Clark-Basco route, highlighting its importance in strengthening connections between the two destinations and promoting tourism.
“The renewed connection underscores the importance of Basco in the growth of Clark International Airport,” Manankil said. “Philippine Airlines continues to play an essential role in fostering connections across the country.”
The resumption of flights between Clark and Basco is expected to bring new opportunities for travel, business, and tourism, benefiting both the local communities and visitors from other regions.
