Bold Growth Plan and Digital Innovations
In April 2022, Vietjet’s General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) announced an ambitious growth plan for the airline. This plan includes maintaining its position as the market leader in passenger volume and efficiency in Vietnam, reaching agreements with Airbus and Boeing for timely aircraft deliveries, and expanding its business activities in ground services, training services, and digital business.
The GMS also set goals for Vietjet to become a leading airline in digital technology, raise capital to meet development demands, and prioritize asset growth and financial capability improvement. These objectives lay the foundation for a fruitful and sustainable development of the airline.
Soaring High with Fleet Expansion and Financial Targets
Vietjet has its sights set on the sky and is ready to expand its fleet of 87 aircraft (including nine Airbus A330 widebody aircraft). The airline expects to operate 139,513 flights with 25.7 million passengers onboard in 2023. With a targeted consolidated revenue for 2023 of over $2.14 billion and an after-tax profit set at $42.8 million, the future looks bright for Vietjet.
In 2022, the airline operated more than 116,261 flights, transporting 20.5 million passengers and leading the domestic market in terms of passenger volume. Vietjet has also implemented a tablet check-in project, streamlining the check-in process for ground staff and passengers. Additionally, the airline integrated HD Insurance and Galaxy Pay services into its system, providing more options for passengers. Vietjet also launched its SkyJoy loyalty program, offering endless rewards along with an in-flight POS payment system for convenient ancillary purchases.
With these ambitious expansion plans and digital innovations, Vietjet is truly setting a course for a successful and sustainable future.
