NAIA is definitely congested once again and while we still don’t have a new airport nearby, I guess the best solution is to open more flights from different hubs around the Philippines. This is now what is AirAsia Philippines is doing, to add more flights from its Cebu and Clark hubs.
Having more flights from hubs outside Metro Manila will allow passengers from the Luzon and VisMin area to travel directly to their destinations without the need to shuttle to Metro Manila to get their flights. It will be more affordable for them and of course, it will definitely help decongest NAIA.
New flights from Cebu
In its recent timetable of flights from September 1 to 15, AirAsia Philippines has added the following flights from Cebu:
- Cebu – Cagayan De Oro – Manila
- Cebu – Davao – Cebu
Beginning October of this year, AirAsia will also be adding Cebu – Kuala Lumpur – Cebu and Cebu – Puerto Princesa – Cebu to its list of new flights.
Of course, AirAsia has begun its Clark – Caticlan – Clark services, hence, people from Northern to Central Luzon need not travel to Manila to fly to Boracay.
