Cebu Pacific is an Airline Not Just for Low-Budget Travelers

When you hear the name Cebu Pacific, you likely think of a “low-cost airline” or LCC. It’s an airline that offers safe flights from point A to point B without the extras. There’s no business class, no seat-back entertainment systems, no free food, drinks, or blankets. However, there’s another way to see this: you can actually customize your flight. Cebu Pacific isn’t just for budget travelers—it caters to almost everyone, except those who expect the comforts of business class and personalized services.

I’ve flown Cebu Pacific many times, and each flight can be tailored based on your preferences. For short hops like Manila to Caticlan, I just avail of checked-in luggage, skipping pre-ordered meals. If I get thirsty, I simply purchase water or juice on board. On an overnight trip to Davao, I packed all my clothes in a carry-on and skipped check-in luggage altogether. Since it was an early morning flight, I pre-ordered a deluxe egg sandwich and bought coffee on board as my breakfast. I always need breakfast, so this suited me.

While all these come at an extra cost, you only pay for the services you need. This makes it a great value for money. Cebu Pacific isn’t just about the lowest fares—they focus on giving passengers flexibility to choose what they want, making sure every cent you spend is worth it.

Their planes are new, some even have that “new car” smell. While they have denser seating compared to full-service airlines, the seats are still comfortable. I’m not a fan of the Recaro SL3710 seats that don’t recline, but at least I don’t have to deal with the person in front of me leaning too far back. Plus, many planes come with charging ports, which is a big bonus.

Their cabin crew is friendly, approachable, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. This adds to the value you get, even with just the basic fare. You can make your flight experience more enjoyable by selecting add-ons based on what you prefer, without having to pay for things you don’t need.

Making the Most of Your Cebu Pacific Flight

If you’re booking a Cebu Pacific flight, don’t just focus on the lowest fare. Think about the comfort and experience you want. If you’re traveling light but need food, skip checked luggage and order meals. If you’re on a long flight to Australia and want a blanket, you can buy one on board and keep it. The beauty of Cebu Pacific is that you can pick and choose the services you need.

As of now, pre-ordered meals range from PhP 200 to PhP 320. Snacks like their popular cheese roll are also available. Checked-in luggage ranges from PhP 1,207 to PhP 2,372 for a round trip. Blankets cost PhP 400, and you can take them home, while a hygiene kit costs PhP 100. These prices are reasonable for what you get.

I do hope Cebu Pacific introduces in-flight internet soon, which could be another option to add to your experience. This would be a game-changer, especially for longer flights and for passengers who need to work on board.
