Emirates is rolling out its Premium Economy seats to two additional cities: São Paolo starting November 19 and Tokyo Narita beginning December 20. São Paolo will be the fifth city in the Americas to offer this new cabin class. Meanwhile, Tokyo Narita will be the second city in the Far East to feature the upgraded seats.
Starting November 19, passengers can book Premium Economy seats for flights between Dubai and São Paolo. These seats will be available on flights EK261/262, initially three times a week and then daily in December. For those flying to and from Tokyo Narita, the new cabin class will be available daily starting December 20 on flights EK318/319.
The planes serving these routes will have a four-class configuration. They will feature 56 Premium Economy seats at the front of the main deck in a 2-4-2 layout. In addition, the planes will have 338 Economy Class seats, 76 in Business Class, and 14 First Class suites. The interiors of these planes have also been updated, offering a fresh look and feel across all cabins.
Popularity and Expansion
The Premium Economy seats have been a hit since their introduction a year ago. Over 160,000 customers have upgraded from Economy Class to try out the enhanced experience. The seats offer more legroom, premium dining options, and other perks. Emirates currently offers Premium Economy on flights to several global destinations, including London, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York. The airline plans to introduce the new cabin class to Mumbai and Bengaluru starting October 29.
Emirates also operates daily flights between São Paulo and Dubai, connecting passengers to over 130 destinations worldwide. In Brazil, Emirates also has a Boeing 777 service between Dubai and Rio de Janeiro, which further connects travelers to Buenos Aires. In Japan, Emirates serves three gateways with daily flights to Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, and Osaka Kansai.
Emirates is expanding its popular Premium Economy class to São Paolo and Tokyo Narita. The airline continues to enhance the flying experience for its passengers with updated interiors and more seating options.
