Emirates Pours Love into Every Cup of Coffee

Emirates Pours Love into Every Cup of Coffee

When you fly Emirates, you’re not just getting a seat on a plane; you’re also getting some of the best coffee in the sky. On International Coffee Day, which falls on October 1, Emirates is shining a spotlight on its extensive coffee offerings. The airline serves up more than 17 tons of coffee each year to passengers flying to 140 destinations worldwide.

A Variety of Flavors and Partners

Emirates collaborates with a variety of coffee suppliers like Lavazza, Coffee Planet, and the Nairobi Coffee and Tea Company. They even work with independent suppliers from around the globe. Whether you’re in Economy or Premium Economy, you can expect a cup of coffee at least once during your flight. But if you’re flying Business or First Class, you’re in for a treat. You can order coffee anytime you want, choosing from a menu that includes everything from decaf and cappuccino to iced Americano and Arabic coffee with cardamom and saffron. These coffees are brewed using Lavazza beans, which have unique flavor notes like walnut and maple syrup or cocoa and black pepper. And if you’re a real coffee lover, you can even indulge in an affogato al café dessert.

One of Emirates’ long-standing partners is Coffee Planet, a UAE-based company. They’ve been working together for a decade to create special brews for occasions like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Think rose-kissed mocha or orange crush latte. Coffee Planet sources green beans from over 23 countries and roasts them carefully to produce both beans and ground coffee. They even make bio-degradable capsules in Dubai.

If you find yourself in the First Class lounge in Concourse B at Dubai International Airport, you’ll see a dedicated coffee counter. Here, you can pick from three single-origin blends, each with its unique aroma, acidity, and bitterness. The selection changes every two months, so frequent flyers can always try something new. Emirates also pays close attention to the water quality and regularly monitors it to ensure it’s perfectly potable.

Training the Crew for the Perfect Cup

Emirates takes coffee seriously, and that extends to its cabin crew. They receive specialized training on everything from the origins of coffee to the different blends and how to make the perfect cup. They even get hands-on training on how to serve and present each type of coffee.

Emirates goes the extra mile to make sure its passengers have a top-notch coffee experience. From a wide range of suppliers to specialized training for the cabin crew, the airline has every detail covered when it comes to serving the perfect cup of coffee in the sky.
