Emirates Serves 77 Million Customer Meals a Year

Emirates not only connects destinations but also offers a journey of culinary excellence to its passengers. With more than 77 million customers served annually, Emirates has perfected the art of dining in the sky, providing an experience that rivals top restaurants worldwide.

Every day, Emirates prepares an astounding 215,000 meals to cater to its 490 flights. This culinary feat is achieved with the help of 1,400 dedicated chefs who operate both from the massive Emirates Flight Catering Facility in Dubai and through partner caterers globally. These chefs craft meals from a library of 2,200 diverse recipes each month, ensuring a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and vegetables. In just one year, Emirates serves up 6 million kilograms of fresh chicken, 350,000 kilograms of beef, and an impressive variety of other ingredients to its passengers across the globe.

The airline’s commitment to quality is evident in the variety of gourmet products used. Over a year, Emirates’ kitchens utilize more than 938,000 kilograms of fresh cream, 32,000 kilograms of Masala cashew nuts, and 98,000 kilograms of fresh strawberries, among other premium ingredients. The airline’s dedication to providing luxurious dining experiences is particularly notable in First and Business Class, where passengers enjoy exclusive items like 3.5 million single-serve bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Australian Yarra Valley feta cheese, and even unlimited caviar, with 10,350 kilograms consumed last year.

To ensure that the dining experience is as impeccable as the food, Emirates’ cabin crew undergo extensive training. This training covers service best practices, plating of food, wine pairing, and even tea and coffee service, including the traditional Arabic coffee service. This meticulous attention to detail is a cornerstone of the Emirates Hospitality strategy, which focuses on delivering service based on excellence, attentiveness, innovation, and passion.
