Emirates Ups the Ante with A380 on Vienna Routes

Emirates Ups the Ante with A380 on Vienna Routes

Here’s some news for travelers flying between Dubai and Vienna! Starting February 21st and running until March 30th, 2024, Emirates is enhancing its service to Vienna on flights EK127 and EK128 with its Airbus A380. These routes, previously served by the Boeing 777-300ER, will now see the introduction of the larger, three-class A380 aircraft. This upgrade marks a significant increase in capacity and travel options for those journeying to and from Vienna.

Emirates’ flight EK127 takes off from Dubai at 08:55 hrs, landing in Vienna at 12:25 hrs. The return journey on EK128 departs Vienna at 15:10 hrs, arriving back in Dubai at 23:40 hrs, all times being local. Passengers on these flights can look forward to the unique experiences offered by the world’s largest passenger aircraft. The A380 is renowned for its First Class suites, onboard lounge, shower spas, and a selection of the best international and regionally inspired cuisine. Not to mention, Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system, ice, offers up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment.

Elisabeth Zauner, Country Manager for Emirates Austria, expressed excitement over the return of the Emirates A380 to Vienna. “The deployment of our A380 until the end of the winter schedule is a significant milestone for us. It underlines Vienna’s importance as both a destination and a departure point. We hope to see our flagship return permanently in the future,” she said. Vienna has missed the Emirates A380 since August 2022, and with this winter schedule change, Emirates stands as the only airline serving Vienna Airport with the fan-favorite A380. The evening flights EK 126 and EK 125 will continue to operate with a Boeing 777-300ER.

Enhanced Comfort and Increased Passenger Capacity

The Emirates A380 on the Vienna-Dubai route offers an impressive array of seating: 14 in First Class, 76 in Business Class, and 429 in Economy Class. This switch to the A380 allows for almost 40% more passengers to be transported, highlighting Vienna’s significance as a hub and the growing demand for long-haul travel via Dubai. While the change doesn’t affect freight capacity on this route, the focus is clearly on enhancing passenger comfort and experience.
