Growing Etihad’s US Network
The introduction of the A380 on this popular route aligns with Etihad’s strategy to meet customer demand for increased capacity and signifies the airline’s expanding network. Neves adds, “Putting the A380 on the popular New York route makes sense as we satisfy customer demand for more capacity, further growing our expanding network. The fact that our new route to Boston, Etihad’s fourth US gateway, will open on March 31, three weeks before our A380 starts flying to New York, underlines our ambitious growth plans.”
This strategic move enhances Etihad’s capacity in the US market, offering better connectivity to the broader GCC and Indian subcontinent, and aims to attract more visitors to explore Abu Dhabi.
The A380 will operate on one of Etihad’s two daily flights to New York, while the other will continue to be serviced by a 787-9, featuring First, Business, and Economy cabins. This addition makes the US route the second destination, after London, to experience the A380 since Etihad reintroduced this magnificent aircraft.
