Etihad Airways Expands Its Horizons to Al Qassim and Beyond

Etihad Airways has unveiled its latest venture, announcing Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, as a new destination in its extensive network. Starting June 24, 2024, this addition underscores Etihad’s commitment to enhancing connectivity within the Middle East and offering passengers more travel options. This expansion not only increases Etihad’s Saudi gateways to four but also celebrates two decades of the airline’s service to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The new service between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Al Qassim’s Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz International Airport will operate four times a week. This route aims to cater to the needs of business travelers venturing into new markets and tourists eager to explore the rich cultural tapestry of Saudi Arabia. Al Qassim, known for its verdant date palm groves and vibrant cultural scene, presents a unique destination for those seeking a blend of tradition and modernity.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, shared his enthusiasm for the new route, emphasizing its significance not only as a new destination but also as a milestone in Etihad’s long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the exceptional experience passengers can expect from the moment they step into Zayed International Airport – Terminal A, Etihad’s new home, setting new standards for travel comfort and service excellence.

A Broader Vision for Connectivity

In addition to the Al Qassim service, Etihad is set to enhance its flight schedule significantly. Starting June 15, the airline will increase service frequency to key destinations and launch flights to Antalya and Jaipur, broadening its reach and providing travelers with more options. The update includes additional flights to Thiruvananthapuram, Amman, Cairo, Karachi, and Colombo, contributing to a 33 percent increase in Etihad’s total weekly flights from the previous summer.

This expansion from 642 to 855 weekly flights by summer 2024 extends Etihad’s destinations from 65 to 76, significantly boosting its global connectivity. The optimized schedule and introduction of new routes are designed to improve the travel experience, offering greater flexibility and access to a wide range of destinations.

As Etihad Airways embarks on this ambitious expansion, passengers can look forward to a richer travel experience, marked by greater connectivity and the opportunity to explore new cultures and destinations. From the historical and cultural wealth of Al Qassim to the scenic beauty of Antalya and the vibrant energy of Jaipur, Etihad continues to connect the world with its renowned hospitality and service.
