If you are an aspirant reading this, I have good news. Every flight attendant was like you. You are where they were before. No one was immediately born as a flight attendant. Every cabin crew all started from the bottom and worked their way up. They once had those “munting pangarap” until they worked hard and achieved it. At the end of the day, every flight attendant began as a dreamer and an aspirant.
You see, becoming a cabin crew is no Cinderella story where you are transformed into one in an instant. You have to earn it and the real magic happens when you work your way forward. The term is “work” and not just “wish”. You also need to take action. When? Today!
A flight attendant aspirant is just like a house under construction
Allow me to cite an example. Those beautiful houses you see were not born in a day. It just didn’t appear there in a flick of a finger. Those beautiful homes began as a sheet of paper, a plan and a dream. It started out as just a plain lot. However, architects were able to dream how that house would look on that empty piece of lot. Constructing that house takes times, sometimes years. A house under construction is never beautiful. It is messy, dirty, no color, but slowly getting prettier and prettier as it nears completion. Then once the final touches are done, there you have a beautiful home, which was once a piece of lot with concrete, wood, and steel.
Just like the story above, every flight attendant began from an aspirant, just the way how butterflies all came from caterpillars. Along the way, you will all be transformed, but the way you will be transformed towards your dream will all depend on your attitude. Just like us going through a lot of heartbreaks to be where we are now, you too may go through a lot of heartbreaking moments too, those times when you feel you’ve reached a wall, a dead end. Question is, what will you do? Will you just turn back? Or will you find a way to scale that wall to continue your journey.
Your cabin crew dream may just be “under construction.” You may face some hurdles, but when you do, will you turn back or finish it?
So if you are cabin crew aspirant now, be proud because every flight attendant were once like you. They were once right were you are now. None of them became FAs without becoming an aspirant FA.
So work hard and look up all the time. Successful people all started from the bottom.
